How to remove and style a spike of hair?
THE WORST ENEMY OF OUR WELL-GROOMED HAIR? THE PI! THIS REBELLIOUS LOCK OF HAIR OFTEN GIVES A HARD TIME. FOLLOW THE GUIDE, WE EXPLAIN HOW TO TAME THE SPIKES IN YOUR HAIR.
Why do we have spikes in our hair?
It gives us a lot of trouble during morning styling and no matter how hard we try to flatten it, the spike is not easily tamed. This rebellious lock of hair stands proudly on the heads and has a knack for making our life/hairstyle impossible. Especially - and this is perhaps the worst - that we are not all equal when it comes to ears of corn. Indeed, their presence is linked to different factors. The nature of the hair invites air differently to tame the rebels. Curly hair should not touch its spikes: the more you work on curly hair, the more the curl "foams" and this does not improve the rendering. So we let the ears do as they please on curly hair. Other injured parties? Fine hair! They often need to touch up their spikes regularly as thick hair manages to tame the spikes more easily. As for oily hair, it is better to wash them regularly: on hair that tends to grease, the earmarks immediately! Regarding the location and frequency of the ears, we all have at least one, located at the hairline, behind the head. But some may also have a bad crease (or even 2) on the forehead or in the back of the neck. Fortunately, several solutions exist to tame this unruly hair. Only common recommendation: you have to control the ear when your hair is wet, directly after washing it. Taming his ear(s) is then much simpler.
The techniques of hairdressers to tame the different ears of corn
Full of good advice and clever tricks, hairdressers share their recommendations for taming flyaway:
The back spike
Everyone has this cob. It is located at the hairline, behind the head. To tame it, simply take the section of hair where the cob is and tug on it to keep tension on the section, while drying it with a hair dryer. This smooths out the wick and removes the cob. This technique is easier on long hair than on short hair. On boyish hair, the spike often comes back when you wake up. It is then advisable to blow dry again to try to tame the cob again the next day.
The spike in the neck
While on long hair, the ear is drowned in the mass, on short boyish hair, it's another story. Especially if 2 ears have decided to settle in this place, then the mullet cut comes back in force, giving a peak effect at the nape of the neck. To remedy this, we cut a little short or we can dry the wick very flat but this risks making a wick a little long. In addition, with sweating, the cob returns, so it is better to cut.
The front cob
Surely the worst of all, the one that gives us cold sweats when we see it in the morning in the mirror! For the followers of the bangs with ear, it is better to pass a little water every morning and then dry it with the tip of a dryer, flat, starting from the root. Once mastered and the root dry, you can give a little volume by raising the locks a little. Be careful, this is done after drying otherwise the ear goes up. For those who do not have bangs, but one or two ears, there is a strange technique, to say the least:
1/ Make a parting in the opposite direction of the ear (for example: if the ear goes to the right, you need a parting on the left).
2/ Then divide the hair into 4 equal parts, flattening your hair well.
3/ Take 4 socks and wrap your hair on each of the socks.
4/ The next day, the root is flat, and therefore the ear has disappeared! In addition, thanks to the socks, the hair has no traces of clips or rubber bands and this technique gives a nice wavy effect on the ends.
What products to use to remove hair spikes?
To try to hold the cob as much as possible, it is better to bet on fixing products such as hairspray or a spray after brushing. We opt instead for light products to avoid the cardboard effect of the hair. Another trick to hide your ear: dry shampoo. It allows prolonging the effect of the shampoo but not only. It helps to swell and therefore restore volume to the hair. Once well brushed in all directions, the hair camouflages the cob. This technique works especially on fine hair.
How to do your hair when you have a spike?
This is the dilemma. A spike of hair can ruin a hairstyle! To avoid disaster, there are ways to style your hair that can put an end to the spikes. The most radical? The straightening that puts all the hair in agreement by imposing a net veneer on all our locks, or - even clearer - the perm, made in a hairdressing salon - which will allow you to discipline and impose your goodwill on your mop of hair! But you don't have to impose these operations on yourself to have your hair done well even when you have a spike. Is that a good idea? Bet on this particularity to sublimate it! For several seasons, rays have been on the rise, whether centered or sideways; it's the perfect opportunity to be stylish without splitting your hair! Another option? Opt for braids that make it possible to impose movement on the ear ... and to keep it in place: bubble braids, small African braids, boxer braids stuck to the skull, and braided hairstyles are available endlessly and offer pretty possibilities (whether you have a cob or not).
